We would like to make patients aware that, following guidance from NHS England (NHSE) and the British Medical Association (BMA), the Accelerated Access to medical records plan is currently being put on hold.
This decision was made due to concerns over the safety of releasing prospective access of medical records and insufficient time and support being given to practices to ensure a safe process, especially to those most vulnerable in our population.
Patients will still be able to see a limited view of their record by registering through the NHS App or through suppliers such as Patient Access. This includes being able to see the following data:
- Their current medical problem list
- Their current medication
- Allergies and immunisations status
- Bloods results once actioned by a GP
Patients and insurance companies (with patient consent) can still continue to access retrospective records by completing a Subject Access Request (SAR) form, which can be found on the page below.
